Cask ales

We take our beer very seriously at The Red Lion. We always have three real ales on tap. We are passionate about serving the perfect pint. We have a new guest ale on each week so please be sure to come and sample some of England's finest beer.

We currently have on tap:

Brakspear Bitter - 3.4 ABV - A superb session beer, amber in colour with a good fruit, hop and malt nose. The initial taste of malt and the well-hopped bitterness quickly dissolves into a predominantly bittersweet and fruity finish.

Brakspear Oxford Gold - 4.0 ABV - English Target hops give this beer a remarkable aroma. Late hopping with Goldings and fermentation by the Brakspear yeast creates a remarkable zesty aroma, a full fruity flavour and a golden colour.

Jennings, Cockerhoop - 4.6 ABV - An award-winning golden bitter from an all malt brew, with Styrian Golding hops added at various stages, to give a classic hop flavour and aroma.

A bitter beer of great character, appealing to those drinkers who really appreciate their beer and are looking for quality.

The name is derived from 'Cock-a Hoop', an old custom of removing the cock (or spigot) from a barrel and resting it on the hoop of the cask before commencing a drinking bout, but was changed to reflect the brewery's location on the banks of the River Cocker.

Ringwood, Filly Drift - 4.7 ABV - Drift the time away with this rich brown, easy drinking bitter packing a full bodied malty taste and fruity, hoppy aroma.

Wine

We have a carefully selected wine list comprising varieties from around the world to suit every palette without breaking the bank. We offer three white, three red and two rose by the glass. We also have a selection of champagne and dessert wine to suit every occasion.
